As an artist with professional training, I teach different art techniques to newcomers and advanced students alike. My courses are very reasonably priced, and include coloring and painting materials, brushes and many other tools.

Beginning Glass Blowing Class

 

Beginning classes will introduce the student to the techniques and experience of glass blowing. The student will learn to use the basic tools, how to gather glass onto a blowing iron and how to shape and blow the glass into different forms such as vases, bowls, paperweights and flowers. The cost of the class is $400 per student.

Intermediate Classes

 

This class will build on the skills of the beginning class. The class will work primarily in color, both rod and frit. It will introduce lip wraps, feathering, handles, cookie feet, optic molds, use of the puffer or steam stick and thinning of the neck. The cost is $400 per student.

Bench/Studio Rentals

 

Current artist in the making? You just need someplace to work on your new ideas and concepts. We have bench space and the furnaces needed for you to craft your art.

 

Upon completion of the beginning classes and/or at the discretion of Veirs Studio Glass and Gallery, LLC managment, bench time rental may be available. Decisions will be made on a case by case basis and will consider such things as skill level and safety practices. Rental includes tools and equipment necessary for blowing, but will not include color glass. Rental charges will be based on a 3-hour minimum. Rates are also based on the size of the re-heating furnace used, $45/hr for the large re-heating furnace and $35/hr for the smaller..
